Hi Al, thanks for your comment. As you know, I wanted to make a cheap and durable thing that would last for decades (the tiny piece of perforated metalsheet I have seen in Highway Hawk's catalog is something different, it is not a luggage rack, it is a shelf for a soap-case).
I am fully aware that the price will be rather high in USA, but despite that I have two orders from there. I am negotiating with another chroming company, and if they are cheaper, price will naturally come down. Naturally, you can order the rack not chromed, if you want to, for half the price. If you don't need it for show, you can paint it. Even if it would rust a little, the metal is thick and it will last for many, many years !
Many European Savages don't have any pad at all, only a low handle behind the passenger seat. It is differences like this that makes the planning of a new product tricky...how can it fit everybody ? Is that pad necessary ? Can you use the handle as a handle if the pad is there ? Is the handle or the pad more important ?...
Please tell me, how much do you think you would be ready to pay for a durable luggage rack like this. I need to know that, from many readers, so I can decide if it is possible to carry on with this project or not.
All good things, Peter.
